Conall Gleeson

Music DirectorConall became Music Director of New Note Orchestra in January 2017. He has grown the orchestra from a grass roots charity into a credible arts organisation. He uses innovative workshop ideas to encourage the orchestra members to compose their own scores. He is currently Deputy Head of the School of Media at University Brighton.
Jon Rattenbury
Music Director for the New Note StrummersJon Rattenbury
Music Director for the New Note StrummersJon has led the New Note Strummers since 2016, helping the Strummers in live performances, and for their recent CD recording of classic tracks. Jon is an experienced musician who performs in a wide range of styles, and has worked as a music teacher for many years, including as Associate Lecturer at the University of Chichester Conservatoire.
Helen Marsden

Interim ChairpersonHelen comes with a background in medical sciences, and experience of charitable governance. In her professional life, Helen designs and runs clinical trials, having worked in corporate and start-up worlds. But her passion lies in her non-professional life: orienteering, singing and being a mother. She is currently the Chair of a small chamber choir (in which she sings too), based in Esher, and also sings for a second choir based in Reigate.

TrusteeI am a music therapist and choir leader, grew up in East Anglia, and then spent many years in Brighton before we relocated to Sweden. I have been a supporter of New Note from almost the beginning and involved in a few projects, and am delighted to be a trustee.
Dan Blomfield

TrusteeDan is a trustee of New Note Projects. He is in recovery from alcohol and is one of the founding fathers of New Note Orchestra. A regular member since its inception, he provides valuable support to the other musicians.
James McConnel

Special AdvisorJames acts as a Special Adviser to New Note Projects. James has composed the scores for over100 television documentaries and dramas and has written extensively for many theatre productions. He was the main participant in Channel 4’s Addicts’ Symphony.
Patrick Harrex
Friend of New Note OrchestraPatrick Harrex
Friend of New Note OrchestraPatrick helped launch the New Note Orchestra in 2015. He is an award winning composer whose works have been given live and broadcast performances in many countries around the world. His music has been recorded by Argo, CBC (Canada), Editions LGNM (Luxembourg) and New Music Brighton. In 2005 he established the Sussex branch of CoMA (Contemporary Music for All). He is Musical Director of Brighton & Hove Arts Orchestra, an open access community orchestra.
